Have a 'Goofy' weekend with Disney World and Perimeter Mall

ATLANTA -- There's no need to drive to Orlando to get the Disney World experience this weekend.

Through its Let the Memories Begin tour campaign, Disney World is bringing Goofy and his magical crew to Metro Atlanta to spread happiness, memories and, of course, pixie dust.

After stopping by the 11Alive studio Friday morning to chat with the anchors and help Chesley give the weekend weather, Goofy moved on to Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta.

The tour will be at Perimeter Mall (4400 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody) from noon until 8 p.m.

Segway Tours of Atlanta

Segway Tours of Atlanta

My daughter had a bright idea the morning of June 22. She said, “Hey, mom, let’s go on a segway tour!” I looked at her in a perplexed way and said, “Hmm, I just think you upped me one!” I would have never thought of that and got right on the phone to call City Segway Tours. They scheduled us, and we were off! I have been in downtown Atlanta and have seen people on those segways with the nerdy helmets, and I would snicker at them as I drove by.

ATLANTA -- There are only a few weeks left to vote for a new menu item at Turner Field.

With the All-Star Break approaching, the Atlanta Braves and food/beverage partner ARAMARK are encouraging fans to decide which sandwich should remain on the menu after the Midsummer Classic.

The Cobb Smoked Pulled Chicken Sandwich is made of house-smoked pulled chicken, Vidalia onion straws, country slaw and signature sauce on Texas toast.

The Turner Field Brisket Sandwich contains 18-hour braised beef brisket, smoked onions, country slaw and signature sauce on a corn-dusted Kaiser roll.

The winning sandwich will be determined by sales and online votes.
