ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Dream reinstated forward Sancho Lyttle and waived guard Kelly Mazzante, the team announced today.

Lyttle, a 6-4 forward, missed the Dream's last six games while competing for Spain in EuroBasket Women 2011, a qualifying tournament for the 2012 Olympics.  She was temporarily suspended for the duration of her absence.

Lyttle was limited during the tournament due to an injury.  She is expected to return to action for the Dream once she has been evaluated and cleared to play by team physicians.  Lyttle is averaging 12.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.5 assists in four games for the Dream this season.

DOWNTOWN: NBA lockout more pain for Philips Arena

DOWNTOWN: NBA lockout more pain for Philips Arena

ATLANTA - Thursday's NBA lockout is bad news for any city with a team, but it's even more bad news for Atlanta's Philips Arena.

Opened in 1999 at a cost of $213 million, Philips is ranked as the 4th best entertainment venue in America, the 12th best in the world.

But as far as bookings are concerned, Philips is now trying to avoid the perfect storm.

Last month the Thrashers hockey franchise flew off to Canada, leaving behind 43 empty dates.

Arena owners were hoping to fill many of the empty weekends with Hawks games.

But Thursday's NBA lockout could mean a shortened or possibly no professional basketball season at all.

Arena President Bob Williams can't discuss the NBA lockout since he's also president of the Atlanta Hawks, but he told 11Alive News his booking staff is working hard to find other events to fill empty seats.

Hawks Host Rookie and Free Agent Mini-Camp

Hawks Host Rookie and Free Agent Mini-Camp

ATLANTA -- Friday, July 1st is the date that looms for the NBA when they will join the NFL in a lock out.

This week at Philips Arena Hawks Head Coach Larry Drew and scouts from other teams are frantically working out rookies and free agents to try and fill roster spots.  The Hawks second round draft pick Keith Benson from Oakland University is on hand working out for his new team.

Local players like Peachtree Ridge alum Zach Graham and Stephenson alum Dontrell Jefferson are getting a look alongside names from the college level we are familiar with like Ohio State's David Lighty and Pittsburgh's Brad Wanamaker.

Normally the guys would be trying out to make a summer league team that would play in Las Vegas, but with the lock out, that has been canceled.  They now have this week to prove what they can bring to an NBA team.
