Delia's Chicken Sausage Stand in $20

Delia's Chicken Sausage Stand in $20

ATLANTA – The relatively new restaurant Delia’s Chicken Sausage Stand is gaining popularity in the foodie world for their “out of the box” approach to meat inside of a bun. Delia’s Chicken Sausage is “made according to a recipe Delia has been perfecting for 15 years”. Delia Champion is the brain behind The Flying Biscuit Café and Molly Gunn owns The Porter Beer Bar, the two are co-owners of the restaurant.

The sausage is made from chickens raised on Georgia’s Springer Mountain Farms; the farm raises their chickens on a vegetarian diet; and they are antibiotic free.

DINNERS ON A DIME: Atlanta Taquerias

DINNERS ON A DIME: Atlanta Taquerias

ATLANTA, Ga. – This week, Dinners on a Dime features the best in local taquerias. Every Tuesday Where U Live chooses four favorite eats in your area for you to take your family and friends for a fabulous meal for a price that’s economically feasible in today’s economy.

Taqueria del Sol or TDS is known from their tacos, enchiladas, soups and chilies. The restaurant has four metro locations and they’re always pretty packed for the lunch crowd. Around the newsroom, the fish tacos and shrimp corn chowder reign supreme but TDS loyalists tend to be daring and like to try everything, at least, once. The restaurant also has a pretty impressive selection of tequila and beer. Check them out online or at their Westside, Decatur, Cheshire Bridge and Athens location.

Another popular restaurant, Verde Taqueria has been standing in the Brookhaven neighborhood since 2009.

People urged not to shop, work to protest Ga. law

People urged not to shop, work to protest Ga. law

ATLANTA (AP) -- As many parts of Georgia's law cracking down on illegal immigration take effect, a Latino community group is organizing "a day without immigrants" to protest the measure.

The Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights is calling for a day of non-compliance, asking businesses to close and community members to stay home and not work or shop Friday.

Alan Conner, owner of Dakota Blue restaurant in Grant Park, said he thinks the law is unjust and planned to close for lunch Friday in solidarity.

But some urge caution. Jerry Gonzalez, executive director of the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials, says skipping work without authorization could cost people jobs in a tough economic climate.

Groups are also organizing a "march for justice" on Saturday at the state Capitol to protest the law.

Farm to Table Experience at Terrace On Peachtree

Farm to Table Experience at Terrace On Peachtree

This story is part two of my “Girl’s Night In” stay atThe Ellis Hotel in Atlanta. After a relaxing and much-needed rest at the hotel, all the ladies were scheduled for an early complimentary breakfast at Terrace on Peachtree restaurant. We got to mingle and enjoy fresh fruit, bagels and yogurt parfaits with toast and mimosas.

We were met by “Bill,” our tour guide, who told us that our shuttle bus, provided by Cooper-Atlanta, would be on its way to take us on our excursion! We were headed to the Peachtree Road Farmers Market where Chef Jon Wolf picks most of his food to prepare dishes for guests dining at Terrace.
