MOVIES IN THE PARK in Grant Park welcomes free fun for the entire family!

Atlanta Cyclorama and Civil War Museum continues its Inaugural Four-Year Civil War Series “The American Civil War: One-Hundred-Fifty Years Later” with “Movies in the Park” an outdoor movie screening in Grant Park. Friday, August 12 at dusk, Grant Park is the location for the rescheduled screening of “GLORY”.

GLORY is the 1989 motion picture starring Academy Award Best Supporting Actor Winner Denzel Washington and Matthew Broderick. "GLORY" tells the story of Union Army Colonel Robert Gould Shaw and challenges he faces when leading the 54th Massachusetts Infantry, the nation's first all-Black volunteer regiment.

The first leg of the Civil War series runs Now through August 27 and is designed to inspire New Conversations and Better Understanding of the war’s influence on Modern-Day Atlanta. Noted Historians, Author Talks, Book Signings and Storytelling through Performance, Exhibits and Film to continue each summer leading up to the 2014 Anniversary of the “Battle of Atlanta”.
