ADOPT A PET: Meet Odie

ADOPT A PET: Meet Odie

Everyone knows that smaller dogs display in attitude what they lack in size, and Oddie is living proof.

In a truly heartwarming story, Oddie's story is quite unique. He was found running loose on I-85 where a woman stopped traffic to pick him up. His pregnant girlfriend was hit by a car and Oddie never left her side. She lost the puppies but survived and is now recovering in a foster home.

Odie is a very handsome 2 yrs old Miniature Smooth Haired Dachshund mix who is housebroken and ready to go to a forever home. He is a little shy at first, but if you pick him up, he snuggles right into your arms. He is going to make a terrific family pet.

ATLANTA, Ga. – If you dream of coming home to a wet nose, wagging tail and tons of kisses (in addition to, perhaps, a half-chewed shoe or an overturned trashcan) adopt a puppy from your local Humane Society. According to the ASPCA, approximately 5 million to 7 million domesticated animals enter animal shelters nationwide, every year, and approximately 3 million to 4 million are euthanized. However, you can change those numbers by adopting a "companion" for yourself or for your family. Pets are an investment but, in our opinion, an investment well worth the money.

Wyatt is a nine-month-old Labrador Retriever mix and he’s looking for a permanent home with a loving family. According to the Humane Society, Wyatt needs someone who is patient, caring and loving. And since he’s young he will need someone to train him and teach him how to become a well-behaved adult dog. He has a great deal of energy and would do well in an obedience class.

Starr is a three-month-old female Labrador Retriever mix; she’s looking for a forever home. According to the Humane Society, she will need someone who is patient, caring and loving. Since Starr is such a young dog she needs someone who has the time to commit to training her. Starr is small, now, but she’ll grow to be about 80 lbs. due to her breed.
