R& B Artist Hosts Private Album Release Party at 595 North Avenue Last Night

Atlanta, GA--  8pm last night (9/13/10), hundreds of cars lined up on North Avenue trying to get an exclusive pass to see Trey Songz as he introduced the World to his latest album release. The new album entitled Passion, Pain & Pleasure is available today (Tuesday), but reviewed by a private audience last night at 595 North.

595 North is a small "event venue and lounge" near North avenue and Northside Dr. It boasts itself as being able to host business seminars, training sessions, private parties, fashion and art shows and much more.  The location was the perfect place to host hundreds of young ladies looking to see and hear their beloved Trey Songz offer intimate details about every track of his newest album.

Trey Songz received plenty of praise from his past album which had infamous radio and club hits like "I Invented Sex".

The Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) Foundation to Honor Arthur Blank Foundation

Atlanta, GA--  Stephanie and Arthur Blank and The Arthur M. NBCAHOF Hall of Fame Weekend

The National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation will celebrate its 25th Anniversary during their Annual Hall of Fame Weekend; beginning Thursday, September 23rd and ending Sunday, September 26th.

The Hall of Fame Foundation is a “partner to help ensure the stability, strength and excellence of our nation’s Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and assembles alumni, students, administrators, corporate leaders, celebrities and dignitaries for a weekend of events that include workshops and panel discussions surrounding trends and issues that impact HBCUs and/or predominately Black colleges and universities, as well as the community at large”.

The 25th Annual Hall of Fame Weekend celebration features numerous events for the entire family, including its signature Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday, September 24, 2010 at The Hyatt Regency Atlanta, hosted by Mrs. April Woodard of Inside Edition.

Clark Atlanta University Names Thomas Y. Trawick Jr. New Chief of Police

ATLANTA (SEPTEMBER 3)—Clark Atlanta University (CAU) President Carlton E. Brown today announced the appointment of Thomas Y. Trawick Jr., a decorated law enforcement and retired non-commissioned military officer, as the University’s new chief of police and director of emergency management, effective October 1, 2010. 


                        Trawick was selected from a field of 25 applicants in a national search, resulting in a pool of five candidates who were interviewed by members of the University’s Public Safety Department, faculty, staff and students.  As one of two finalists in the process, Trawick was again introduced in an August 20 open forum where he was questioned by University faculty, staff and students.  


GA Tech Flexes There Brain Muscles, as 1 of their Own is World's Top Innovator

Atlanta, GA--Technology Review magazine recently announced that it was selecting Assistant Professor Nick Feamster of the School of Computer Science as one of the worlds top innovators under the age of 35 for his research in computer networks. 

300 nominees were judged by an elite group of experts and the editorial staff of Technololgy Review magazine, culminating in the TR35 list of young innovators who "exemplify the spirit of innovation."  The work of this talented group spans the world of medicine, computing, communications, nanotechnology, and more.

"I am extremely honored to be recognized with a TR35 award," said Feamster, who runs the Network Operations and Internet Security (NOISE) Lab in the School of Computer Science.
