Saisha Beechman talks about her life as an A-list celebrity makeup artist | People
ATLANTA -- Saisha Beechman is one the most sought after celebrity make up artist. Nia Long, Kelly Roland, Venus Williams, Usher, Raven Symone, Zac Efron, and Vanessa Hudgens are just a few of the A-listers she works with on a daily basis. Quickly becoming a household name amongst the who's who, Saisha discusses her inspirations, her 2013 cosmetic line and who she would want to work with most.
In a short period of time, Saisha has accomplished the unimaginable, having the opportunity to work with some of the most respected names in the industry. Highly recommended and maintaining a hectic schedule, she continues to work hard on the debut of 2 MUA inventions Spring/Summer 13. She also plans to launch her makeup line Fall 2014. Launching a makeup line has elevated her entrepreneurship as she tenaciously develops her brand.
When you discover that you had a love for doing makeup? --I discovered my love for makeup when I realized how creative I can be and that I could finally utilize my gifts as an artist in drawing and painting. Makeup is an artistic release for me.
What are some inspirations behind your love for make up artistry?-- I'm inspired by every great and talented makeup artist out now and through history. Some for there business ethics with successful brands and some for their attention to detail and others for there artistic creativity.
Do you have a special type of skin texture you like to work with and why?-- A special type of skin texture? Hmm, I guess not so much. I mean, its always easier to work with tiny pores and smooth texture but I like a challenge as well. So bring it!
One of the most hectic moments associated with your career?-- The most hectic moments would have to be the times when I try to juggle up to 4 gigs in one day. If I can squeeze everybody in, I'll try to do it.
Favorite celebrities clients and why?-- I love all my clients! I've been blessed to work with some of the sweetest people in the biz. They always trust me to be creative and make them look their best!
A person (past or present) that you would love to work for?-- I always thought I would meet Michael Jackson at some point in my career and maybe even work with him. I was devastated when he passed away.
What made you want to pursue a make up line?-- I decided to pursue a cosmetic line to fill a void of things I feel like I'm missing as a makeup artist and a woman. I want to contribute to women and their self esteem and simple ways they can enhance themselves to feel beautiful.
