Author Shirley Sherrod visits Atlanta | News

ATLANTA -- Author Shirley Sherrod will hold a talk and book signing on Wednesday, September 5 at Central Library in Atlanta.

Sherrod will discuss her new book, "The Courage to Hope" at 6:30 p.m.

According the Fulton County Library, said Sherrod is a lifelong activist who served as Georgia's first black director of rural developments. For decades, she has helped poor and hardworking citizens.
