Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Ben Sheets pitched into the eighth inning and Freddie Freeman hit a two-run double as the Atlanta Braves took a 6-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in the opener of a three-game set at Citizens Bank Park.
Sheets (4-1) gave up seven hits and a run with one walk over 7 1/3 innings of work. Jason Heyward hit a solo home run and scored twice for the Braves, who have won four of their last five.
Vance Worley (6-7) was tagged for four runs on six hits with three walks over just 3 2/3 innings to take the loss. John Mayberry's solo homer accounted for the offense for the Phillies, who had won four of six coming into the game.
