Atlanta Police Chief sworn into Board of the Police Chiefs Association | News
ATLANTA -- Police Chief George N. Turner was sworn in as the 3rd Vice President of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police on Tuesday.
According to the GACP, Chief Turner has served the Chiefs of Police for over 31 years in divisions including Support Services Division, which holds the Corporate Services Section, 911 Communication Center, Information Services and the Training Academy.
Chief Turner has been the Chief of Police for about two years, reported GACP. The Atlanta native also serves as the Police Athletic League president and as the former Chair of the Atlanta METROPOL.
GACP noted Chief Turner is a board member of Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange (GILEE), the Board Chair of High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) and a member of the Major Cities Chiefs, International Association of Chiefs of Police, National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) and the Police Executive Research Forum.
