Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Tim Hudson pitched a shutout and the Atlanta offense roughed up Anibal Sanchez in a 11-0 win over the Miami Marlins in the opener of a three-game set.
Hudson (4-2) gave up five hits and struck out three, while walking three, en route to his 13th career whitewash. The right-hander knocked in two runs with a sacrifice fly in the seventh and an eighth-inning RBI single.
Dan Uggla, who hit the most home runs in Sun Life Stadium, hit his first two homers at Marlins Park. On the night, Uggla went 4-for-5 with five RBI and three runs scored. In addition to the homers, he also doubled in his first at- bat.
Andrelton Simmons, who made his major league debut last Saturday, went 3-for-5, picking up his first three RBI, run and triple on the night.
In addition to the Marlins' offensive struggles, Sanchez (3-4) struggled on the mound. He allowed seven runs in 6 2/3 innings. He struck out five, but gave up eight hits.
