AIA to host Speakeasy: A Black Carpet Fashion Affair | News

ATLANTA, Ga. -- Check out the Art Institute of Atlanta's semi-annual fashion show called "Speakeasy" at Sweetwater Brewing Company on June 6. 

Speakeasy will feature fashion from three local Atlanta designers: Raquel Reed, Paul Bratcher and Sebastian Khloe; as well as other designers. 

The show will present twenty looks with a Harlem Renaissance theme -- A period in the 1920s when African Americans in New York City, namely Harlem, cultivated breakthrough ideas in art, literature and popular culture.

The "black carpet" affair will start with a reception at 7:30 p.m. and the fashion show will begin at 9:00 p.m. 

Guests will be asked to bring at least one item of gently worn clothing to donate to The Nicholas House, a transitional facility.
