ATLANTA -- Two suspects and three Atlanta police officers became stranded on a downtown rooftop following a brief foot chase late Thursday.
Witnesses said they saw the suspects attempting to break into parked cars on Luckie Street at around 11:30 p.m.
The officers, who were already in the area, spotted the men and began a chase. The suspects, both in their early 20s, scrambled onto the roof of an abandoned building. The officers followed and arrested the suspects, but then discovered they couldn't get down.
A fire engine was sent to the scene and its ladder was used to rescue the officers and their suspects.
Police Captain Adam Lee III said the two suspects are charged with prowling and obstruction.
