Teen Domestic Violence and My Upcoming Atlanta Children’s Shelter Event

Teen Domestic Violence and My Upcoming Atlanta Children’s Shelter Event

Today I learned that this month is Teen Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention month. There is not much awareness in the general public about this featured topic so I want to raise awareness.

I have a teen daughter so I want to be sure she knows about it too. When I mentioned this topic she jumped right in and told me that it is definitely needed. Click Here to Read All The Information on Teen Domestic Violence at My Blog www.RichSingleMomma.com

Atlanta Botanical Garden to open a MetroFresh

Atlanta Botanical Garden to open a MetroFresh

Every establishment has a story, but you haven't heard a story quite like actor-turned-chef Mitchell Anderson, owner of Metro Fresh, a community restaurant that offers delicious healthy, gluten-free alternatives to food on the go!

Most of us are guilty of sleeping a little later; therefore, we're running behind, so naturally it's easier to grab a sausage biscuit or a hot Krispy Kreme doughnut and a cup of coffee while on the go. However, Metro Fresh replaces the pork, sugar and caffeine with grilled chicken, granola and fresh fruits...on the go! Now you can enjoy Metro Fresh at another popular tourist site in Atlanta.

11 Facts about Vegetables

11 Facts about Vegetables

When I was a child, I hardly ever ate vegetables. I remember my mother eating a salad and of course, I had to taste what she was eating. The salad was very tasty and since then, I enjoy eating salads.

Grandma was notorious for making sure my brother and I ate our turnip greens (not my favorite at the time), but now I enjoy greens and it doesn’t matter what kind.

I thought it would be fun to list a few things that I know about vegetables. Feel free to take part in this exercise.

Atlanta, GA--  The Healthcare Reform Bill was passed and signed into law by President Obama late last year.  Now as Republicans begin to attempt to repeal the bill, the Center for Cancer Research and Therapeutic Development (CCRTD) at Clark Atlanta University will host a town hall meeting on cancer research and treatment on January 26th.

Under the theme "The Impact of Health Care Reform in Impoverished Communities," the event will focus on health care reform legislation both at the federal, state and local levels, relevant to patients and consumers. The town hall will take place at 1 p.m. in the Robert W. Woodruff Library, Virginia Lacy Jones Exhibition Hall, 111 James P. Brawley Drive, S.W. (adjacent to CAU’s campus) and will air live on CAU-TV, Comcast 23.

Samaritan’s Feet is proud to announce its National Day of Service event in Atlanta, GA.  These efforts are to commemorate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. On Monday, January 17, 2011 more than 500 kids will receive new shoes and a message of hope from 10am-2pm at Rescue Atlanta Church, 410 Englewood Avenue, SW, Atlanta, GA 30315.

More than 100 volunteers will wash the feet of the children and place a new pair of shoes on their feet.  The volunteers will wash the feet of the children and share a special message of hope. As Dr. King stood for more than just marches and rallies, his concept of “somebodiness,” which symbolized the celebration of human worth and the conquest of subjugation, gave the impoverished hope and a sense of dignity.
