Fulton County Cooperative Extension opens Fulton Farm Stand | Health
COLLEGE PARK, Ga. -- Beginning Thursday, June 5, fresh produce will be offered at a new farm stand established by Fulton County Cooperative Extension to provide South Fulton residents access to affordable, fresh fruits and vegetables.
The Fulton Farm Stand will be open Monday thru Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and is located at the front entrance of Camp-Fulton Truitt 4-H Center, 4300 Herschel Road, College Park, GA 30337.
“We are pleased to open our farm stand to provide residents access to affordable fresh produce,” stated Menia Chester, Director of Fulton County Cooperative Extension. “We are dedicated to helping people develop healthy habits to live healthier lives.”
Cooperative Extension is committed to providing fresh, locally grown produce to the community at an affordable price. The department is working with a local farmer to determine the need for a farmer’s market in the area. The Farm Stand is open to all residents wanting affordable fresh produce. Residents are urged to bring their own reusable bags to help with the environment!
“This Farm Stand is opening as a result from a survey we conducted to find out if the community would be interested in having a farmer’s market,” states Ms. Chester. “The survey also identified Camp-Fulton Truitt as a preferred location for a farm stand.”
