Children’s Museum of Atlanta to ring in 2015 with Noon Year’s Eve Ball

ATLANTA – 10…9…8…7… The Children’s Museum of Atlanta is counting down to the “noon year” for 2015!

On Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 11:30 a.m., families are invited to celebrate with the fourth annual Noon Year’s Eve Ball! Children can join the Museum’s very own Princess and Prince as they ring in the “noon year,” followed by a celebratory dance party!

Due to the popularity of Noon Year’s Eve, guests are asked to plan accordingly. General advance ticket purchase is highly recommended to ensure entrance into the Museum. Members interested in visiting the Museum should reserve tickets online. Space is limited to a first come basis for the Noon Year’s Eve program, so families are encouraged to arrive early.

ATLANTA -- “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams debuted her Naked Lingerie line for an upcoming episode of “David Tutera’s CELEBrations” on WE tv.

David Tutera, a world-renowned event planner, designed a lavish affair fit for a queen.

The details are top secret until the episode airs in early 2015, but a number of television and music personalities were in attendance, including “Married to Medicine” star Lisa Nicole Cloud (who designed Porsha’s red carpet dress) and her husband, Dr. Darren Naugles; Quad Webb-Lunceford (“Married to Medicine”); Bobby Valentino, Sean Garrett, Avery Wilson, Meelah Williams and Latavia Roberson (“R&B Divas Atlanta”); Christina Johnson (“Atlanta Exes”); Queen Brooklyn Tankard (“Thicker Than Water”); Shay Johnson (“Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta”); Rodney Perry (the emcee for the night); Gary With Da Tea (Dish Nation); Nat Brown and Lauren Williams (Porsha’s sister).

ATLANTA -- V-103/WAOK hosted their 23rd annual For Sisters Only event at the Georgia World Congress Center. FSO is an indoor festival featuring celebrities, products, health, beauty, workshops and more. The event allows Atlanta to get up-close and personal with it's favorite radio stations and personalities. Attendees enjoyed the 411 Recharge Zone, Wellness Pavilion, V103 Kids Zone and Autograph Zone. This year the Seminar Stage featured Keisha Knight Pulliam, a Powerade Women and Wellness Panel, the Battle of the Sexes hosted by Michael Baisden, Chef G. Garvin interactive cooking show and Michael Baisden's play Men Cry in The Dark.

The Music Stage was rocking with performances from Isaac Carree, Lyfe Jennings, Jazmine Sullivan, Pastor Troy, Raheem The Dream, J Moss, Tasha Page-Lockhart and surprise performances from host LL Cool J, Keyshia Cole and Tamar Braxton.

Fulton County 4-H Fall Festival offers fun for the entire family

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -- Fulton County 4-H is hosting a Fall Festival on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014 from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Fulton Camp Truitt located at 4300 Herschel Road in College Park. Families will enjoy trick or treating, carnival games and crafts, a pumpkin push contest, a pumpkin ring toss, a bobbing for gummy bears contest, and many more fun activities. Everyone is encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes.

The Fall Festival is a good time to learn about 4-H and how the program positively  affect their lives by assisting them in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills, and forming attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing, productive and contributing members of society.

Children’s Museum Tournament for Play hits hole in one

ATLANTA -- More than 100 golfers teed up for charity at the prestigious Peachtree Golf Club for The Children’s Museum of Atlanta’s second annual golf outing, Tournament for Play, on Monday, Sept. 8. The fundraiser, presented by PNC, raised $135,000 to support the museum’s early childhood educational programming and community outreach through generous donations as well as golfer registration.

“The success of this year’s Tournament for Play is a testament to the ongoing support from our committed partners and patrons,” said Jane Turner, executive director of The Children’s Museum of Atlanta. “Their continued support allowed The Children’s Museum of Atlanta to exceed our fundraising goals and provide more dynamic exhibits and educational programming, and that truly is a hole in one for children, families and schools throughout the state!”

Brad James, Cassi Davis to host Spelman Alumnae Centennial Brunch

ATLANTA -- This year, the Atlanta Chapter of the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College (NAASC) is celebrating 100 years of service to alumnae and the community with a Centennial Scholarship Brunch on October 11, hosted by “House of Payne” actress Cassi Davis (Class of 2009) and “For Better or Worse” actor Brad James.

This year’s brunch theme is “Painting the Town Blue: 100 Years of Spelman Legacy.” The goals of the Centennial Celebrations and Endowed Scholarship Campaign are to highlight achievements of Spelman alumnae and the local chapter and establish a $100,000 endowed scholarship for the college’s Metro Atlanta students.
