Social Media Atlanta 2010 Continues until Nov. 14. Two Events being held at our 11Alive Studios

Atlanta, GA--  Social Media Atlanta 2010, a weeklong series of events designed to celebrate the diversity of culture, business and people engaged in social media, is set for November 8-14, 2010. The series of free events is open to anyone interested in learning about social media and will be held at locations around the city including the Fox Theatre, Newell Rubbermaid, Emory University, Georgia College & State University, Fernbank Museum of Natural History, SCAD Atlanta, The Hub Atlanta and Georgia Aquarium. 

2 of the special events, including a panel discussion on "the Democratization of the Media" and a "Mommy Blog Off" competition, are even being hosted by 11Alive at our NBC Studios.

"Cheaper to Keep Her", the latest Theatre Production to Hit Atlanta, Opens to Rave Audience Reviews

Atlanta, GA--  Cheaper To Keep Her opened at the Atlanta Civic Center on November 4th to a nearly full house of spectators that came to see Brian McKnight and Vivica Fox put on a play filled with comedy, life lessons and music.  The production written by Je'Caryous Johnson will be in the Atlanta area only until November 6th, so make sure to find tickets online and enjoy the entertainment.

Using the tagline "He had it all...Until she took everything!", the playwright delves into the subject of love and relationships and the eventual consequences of choices we all make within a relationship.  In this case, a bad choice then leads to the need for revenge to kick in and the cycle of choices and consequences starts all over again, and you never know where revenge will lead to.   

In this production there is a great mixture of comedy, seriousness, spirituality and music that had the capacity crowd going back and fort

Founder of the Sweet Auburn Festival to be Remembered at Ebenezer Church 11/5

Narrative fiction, documentary, music video, and short film screenings coupled with the who’s who of the film industry make the BronzeLens Film Festival one of the nation’s most substantive film festivals. Key Master Classes and Workshops will be led bytop names in the film business including Tyler Perry Studios' Executive Producer, and the Founders of Rainforest productions.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta Hosts Nov. 4 Youth of the Year Gala

Atlanta, Ga--  Youth of the Year is a year-round development program that honors Boys & Girls Club members as outstanding citizens and leaders. On Nov. 4, 21 metro Atlanta Club members will be honored and recognized, and one Club member will be named 2010 Youth of the Year and serve as the spokesperson for Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA).

theme for the event is Face of Future because all 21 Youths of the Year represent the future of metro Atlanta. Scholarships will be awarded to the winner and three finalists. Evaluated criteria include demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles, essay writing, poise and public speaking.
