Atlanta, GA--  Where U Live, 11Alive's community websites, streamed live as Spelman College hosted a town hall meeting to address diabetes and its impact on African-Americans.

14.7% of African Americans age 20 or older have diabetes, according to the American Diabetes Association.  This is a growing epidemic that has led the CDC to identify 644 counties within mostly southern states, including Georgia, as the "diabetes belt".

At the event leading medical, health and fitness experts candidly discussed the causes and preventative practices needed to be taken in order to fight against diabetes.
