Flash mob dining came to Atlantic Station this past weekend - Feast Noir | Events
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Atlanta, GA -- Organized by Michaela Graham, the mastermind of the Atlanta Underground Market, Sunday dinner was out of the norm for some of Atlanta's culinary explorers. Around 1,000 people systematically made their way to Atlantic Station's Central Park toting chairs, tables and picnic baskets for the city's first pop-up picnic titled Feast Noir.
Nova scallion wraps, bruschetta, pasta with homegrown tomatoes, asiago and bacon pasta, zucchini lightly drizzled in EVOO, smoked turkey from Black Tie Barbecue and that was just a small section of my dinner table.
The free tickets for Feast Noir were gone within hours. On the popularity of the event, Graham stated, "I've learned through my underground market, that Atlanta is full of foodies who just love the idea of doing something that is out of the box and not common knowledge so I had to recreate the Paris Diner en Blanc and have our version be black, hence Feast Noir".
Mackenzie Wood, a non-profit professional and Feast Noir volunteer, said ""Al fresco dining is one of the most enjoyable things to do in Atlanta, and Feast Noir took that to a new level. This event brought people together from such a wide range of groups, races, ages, and neighborhoods to enjoy good food and good people under the stars. This event really embodied the spirit of our city!"
Graham says she is very pleased with the success of the event although there is no word on the next Feast Noir. In the meantime, you can indulge your culinary desires by attending Graham's next Atlanta Underground Market on Saturday, September 11.
