What are Georgia's safest and most dangerous cities? | Crime
(ATLANTA BUSINESS CHRONICLE) -- Safety is a top concern for people planning to relocate to a new city. Luckily, the national research firm ValuePenguin crunched the numbers in an attempt to determine which areas of Georgia are the safest and most dangerous.
The top 10 safest cities in Georgia:
1. Holly Springs
2. Johns Creek
4. Flowery Branch
7. Peachtree City
The top 10 most dangerous cities in Georgia:
1. College Park
2. East Point
5. Garden City
6. Union City
ValuePenguin sourced its data from 2013 FBI crime statistics by city, which provides the most recent data available. The raw data report included violent crimes (murder/manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault) and property crimes (burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson) from all law enforcement agencies that participate in the FBI Uniform Crime Reporting program. The website standardized the data to reflect violent and property crimes per 100,000 to account for population.
