Home invasion suspects captured while trying to run

ATLANTA -- Police arrested two home invasion suspects in Downtown Atlanta Wednesday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the CityWalk Apartments at Auburn Avenue and Jesse Hill Jr. Drive at around 1 a.m., after witnesses said they saw two men force a victim into his unit at gunpoint.

Investigators arrived and spoke with the victim, who told them one of the suspects made him lie in the bathtub, while the other bagged some of his property.

Atlanta Police spokesman Greg Lyon said officers set up a perimeter in the area after learning the suspects escaped through the building's parking deck.

An off-duty officer spotted the suspects near Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding and called for assistance.

The suspects were identified as Michael Konsky and Alvin Poole, both 24. Lyon said Konsky was arrested after briefly struggling with police. Poole tried to run, but was quickly captured; Lyon said he was still holding the gun used in the home invasion.

Both suspects were charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault, and were taken to the Fulton County Jail.
