ATLANTA -- Shaving your head makes a statement.

Fans who shaved their heads at Friday's Thrashers game against the Canucks are hoping you'll ask them about it.

They did it for St. Baldricks, a charity that raises money for childhood cancer research.

In exchange for a $5 donation to the charity, fans could have their hair cut or shaved by official Atlanta Hawks hairstylist Gocha, or one of her colleagues, all of whom volunteered their services.

The Thrashers hosted the event at Philips Arena as part of the NHL's Hockey Fights Cancer campaign and raised over $300.

Fans started lining up as soon as the doors opened and kept stylists busy throughout the game.
