ATLANTA --  Ebenezer Baptist Church will be the site of what is being termed as a "wake-up call for teenagers and youth," so that they give themselves a chance to live before they die.  Senseless teenage deaths continue to plague the community and due to this, The Community Council of Metropolitan Atlanta decided to sponsor this summit.

According to Norma Joy Barnes, CCMA’s executive director, AEvery day, young people are prematurely losing their lives as a result of homicide, suicide, HIV, automobile accidents, risky behavior and poor choices. This trend should and can be reversed.@  Barnes advised that the Live B4U Die Summit is being held to let young people know they don=t have to succumb to an early grave.

The powerful and provocative program will include a mock funeral, followed by an interactive “post mortem” forum, featuring the BBC Mimes, Lil Jimmie, Tri-City Drama Guild, and hip hop artists Translee, Eddie Fontaine and Messenja. The Rev. Shanan E. Jones, Assistant Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, will deliver the eulogy. Representatives from key community organizations will serve as panelists during the forum to engage young people in open dialogue and offer keys to avoiding premature deaths.

Admission is free, but registration is suggested.  Reservations may be made at www.communitycouncilma.org or by calling 404-935-5859.  For more information about the Live B4U Die Summit, contact the Community Council of Metropolitan Atlanta at 404-935-5859, email: info@communitycouncilma.org on visit the CCMA at www.communitycouncilma.org.
