Lady Gaga, P!nk coming to Philips in 2013

ATLANTA -- Two of today's hottest pop stars will give separate concerts at Philips Arena in March.

P!nk and Lady Gaga are coming to Atlanta, and tickets for both of their shows go on sale next month.

Grammy Award-winner P!nk will bring her The Truth About Love Tour to Philips on Friday, Mar. 1. The pop diva has released seven albums and had 12 singles land in the Billboard Top 10 since she burst onto the scene in 2000.

Tickets for P!nk's show go on sale on Saturday, Oct. 13.

Worldwide sensation Lady Gaga's Born This Way Ball World Tour will make its way to Georgia on Monday, Mar. 11. Lady Gaga will perform with special guests ZEDD & Lady Starlight. Pre-sale tickets are now available at littlemonsters.com; the box office for Lady Gaga's Atlanta show will officially open on Friday, Oct. 5.

Spelman College and NBAF host  ‘A Weekend with Urban Bush Women’ Sept. 21-22

ATLANTA -- Spelman College department of drama and dance in partnership with NBAF, presenters of the National Black Arts Festival, will host “A Weekend with Urban Bush Women”  ─  two signature events designed to provide a perspective on the art of dance and the role it has played in activism and creating social change.

The weekend events will open with “Urban Bush Women: The Dialogue” on Friday, Sept. 21, at 6:30 p.m. in Spelman’s Baldwin Burroughs Theatre located in the Rockefeller Fine Arts Building.  This intimate conversation features Dr. Michael Simanga, NBAF executive director and Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, the creative force and founding artistic director of the nationally renowned dance company Urban Bush Women.

2012 Suzi Award nominees announced

ATLANTA -- The nominees for this year's Suzi Bass Awards were announced Monday.

The Suzi Awards are among the top honors for Atlanta theater productions. This year's Suzi Nomination Party was held at the Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville, which scored 18 nominations.

Aurora's world premiere production of Clyde 'n Bonnie: A Folktale had 15 nominations -- the most of any play or musical. Second place went to Spring Awakening at Actor's Express with 10 nominations, while two shows tied for a third-place seven nominations -- Atlanta Lyric Theatre's Gypsy and Theatrical Outfit's Red.
