DOWNTOWN --  Georgia State University’s Rialto Center for the Arts continues its 2011-2012 Series with Two Cultures, One Voice: Israel Meets Mali featuring the Idan Raichel and Vieux Farka Touré Quartet on Saturday, April 21 at 8 PM.

pianist/composer Idan Raichel and guitarist/songwriter Vieux Farka Touré, two virtuosic artists from vastly different musical traditions, will come together for one incredible night of world music.

 

The two musicians have arranged and released a brand new album featuring a brilliant collection of improvised, acoustic recordings.   In the spirit of promoting peace and cross cultural harmony, Raichel and Touré open ears and hearts in this unique project to create some of the world’s most sublime and transcendent music. The touring quartet features renowned bassist Yossi Fine and percussionist Souleymane Kané on djembe and calabash.

The Rialto Center for the Arts at Georgia State University is located at 80 Forsyth Street NW, Atlanta, Georgia.  Free parking is available for all Rialto Series events.
