WHY:             Every year, approximately 120 women from Fulton County lose their lives from breast cancer.  A disproportionate number of deaths occur among women from minority or low-income groups.  According to the Georgia Department of Community Health, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in Fulton County.  Regular breast cancer screenings (a mammogram every one to two years for women over the age of 40) can reduce deaths from this condition.
